What is an SBA 8(a) certified contractor?
The SBA 8(a) Business Development Program is a federal certification for small businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, including women, minorities, and veterans. 8(a) certified contractors can be awarded federal and state government contracts through sole-source or set-aside procurement, often bypassing competitive bidding requirements.

What is the difference between stormwater drainage and sanitary sewer?
Stormwater systems collect and convey rainwater runoff from streets, parking lots, and developed land, and typically discharge to retention ponds, wetlands, or water bodies. Sanitary sewer systems collect wastewater from buildings and route it to a wastewater treatment plant. The two systems are completely separate and must never be cross-connected.
What is pipe relining and when do I need it?
Pipe relining (also called CIPP, cured-in-place pipe) is a trenchless method of rehabilitating a damaged or deteriorating pipe by inserting a resin-saturated liner that cures to form a new pipe inside the old one. You may need it when a pipe has cracks, joint separation, root intrusion, or corrosion but the overall alignment and depth make open-cut replacement disruptive or costly.
What is CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) lining?
CIPP stands for Cured-In-Place Pipe. It is a method of rehabilitating existing pipelines by inserting a resin-saturated felt tube into the deteriorated pipe and curing it with hot water, steam, or ultraviolet light to form a structurally independent new pipe inside the old one. No excavation is required for most installations.
Do you handle emergency lift station repairs?

What is demucking and why is it needed in South Florida?
Demucking is the excavation and removal of organic muck, peat, and soft organic soils that cannot support structural loads. South Florida has extensive areas of muck soils, particularly near historic wetlands, lakes, and low-lying areas. Before foundations, slabs, or pavement can be placed, unsuitable material must be removed and replaced with engineered fill.
What is the difference between site work and general construction?
Site work refers to work done outside a building's footprint to prepare and improve the land: grading, excavation, drainage, utilities, and paving. General construction covers the construction of structures, buildings, and infrastructure above and below grade. Wolf Creek holds licenses for both (CGC1528425 and CUC1225771) and can handle the full scope of civil project work.
What is a retention pond and who installs them?
A retention pond (also called a wet retention basin) permanently holds water to manage stormwater runoff, treat water quality, and provide flood attenuation for a surrounding development. Retention ponds are required by SFWMD and other agencies for most commercial and residential developments in South Florida. Wolf Creek Construction installs and repairs retention ponds as part of our stormwater systems work.

Do I need a permit for drainage work in Palm Beach County?
Yes. Most stormwater and drainage construction or modification in Palm Beach County requires permits from Palm Beach County Engineering and potentially an Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). Wolf Creek coordinates permitting as part of our project process.
How long does lift station installation take?
A small commercial lift station typically takes 1 to 2 weeks to install. Larger municipal pump stations with deeper wet wells or larger pump equipment may require 3 to 6 weeks depending on size, electrical coordination, and utility authority acceptance testing.
How do I connect to a municipal sewer system?
Connecting to a municipal sewer requires a service connection permit from the local utility authority, a licensed contractor to excavate and install the service lateral, and inspection and approval by the utility. Wolf Creek handles the full process (permitting, installation, inspection, and tie-in) for commercial, municipal, and new development sewer connections.
